I'm curious as to how this thing preforms. It looks different from the traditional 3 post atties

Look up alex_vapedoctor on IG. He has some videos up with the nucleus so does style_of_mojo <the creator

Yup. Saw a 30 minutes video of it at a local shop a few weeks ago, looks good.

I had the chance to check this out at a local shop today, really cool atty and looked great with the new mojo buffalo mod too.

I got to check one out as well. You can definitely do quad coils easy. Looks like you can only do vertical builds. I almost pulled the trigger, but I didn't like the tight air draw on it. emahusay checked the internal resistance for it and it read at 0.01. They also have their limited edition 23mm Nucleus for the Chi owners.

I'll be making a full review on the Buffalo and Nucleus later this week!!! :D

i got one as a mystery vape mail and was tinkering with it over the weekend. Mine isn't gray tho, mine looks to be either brass or gold plated. the allen screw for the coils is tiny tho, i couldn't find one small enough to use on it since my smallest allen wrench is 1.4. had to use my eyeglass kit flat screw driver on it.

i first built it as quad micro coil to 0.27 ohms but it heated up pretty quick to the point where it heated up my mod too. thought there was a short so i checked and there wasn't and the battery wasn't hot, just the atty and the mod (tried it on brass owl, xxix, surfrider and 4 nine with all the same heat issue).

i then rebuilt it as dual micro coil 0.45 ohms. the atty cap still gets pretty hot but on the 4 nine and owl it doesnt heat up the mod but with the xxix and surfrider, the mods still get a little hot.

wonder if anyone else is experiencing the same issue. i'm checking to make sure there are not shorts which is bugging me cuz i consider myself an advanced builder never had issues with my builds shorting out whether its a regular, micro coil, nano coil, clapton coil, moose nuckle, swan coil etc. i'm only encountering this issue with the nucleus :dunno:.
if i had paid for this i would be pissed off even more right now. the drip tips are nice though

I'm getting the same issues too. I'm running a quad coil 26g (should be around .16-.18) and the mod gets hot quick. This may be one of the flaws of the post design, but not too sure yet.

glad to know its not just me. i can only imagine how hot yours get. my quad 26 guage was at .27 and it was hot. i was starting to second guess my builds lol.

Does your mod get hot too? before i mounted the atty, i had just fully cleaned all my mods (which i do every 4 days) and it got hot. weird cuz my tobh is built at .24 ohms and my mods do get hot at all, just a little warm.

Built a 27g dual coil at .35, and it gets a hot after chain vaping. Not too bad otherwise.

Is it only available in brass?

Hooligan80

Built mine at .24 quad micro coil. Also did a horizontal dual micro coil just to mess around. Get the heat issues, so I drilled out the two outer air flow holes on each side. That little extra air flow really brought it to life. Mind you, it has Rhodium plated posts, screw and accent ring.

I believe the 23mm is only available to that Chi You Club or whatever it's called for now.

Since the serial number on the 23mm Nucleus are 4 digits, I'm guessing that the first 100 will have the Chi You Club logo. 0101 and higher will be not have the logo.

Got mine today, the clouds are crazy with quad 6/7 wrap 1/16th microcoils @.34 Lung inhales still have a lot of warmth. Way more vapor than my origen at that resistance, and definitely better flavor than the stillaire. This thing is fantastic. only complaint is the hex screws are soft, I stripped one on my first build

I actually have the opposite review... the flavor on the stillare I feel is much better than the nucleus when the stillare's airflow is around the same for the nucleus (somewhere around halfway. Might depend on the build, but this has been my experience thus far.

Could be because of the extra wicking on x4 vertical vs 2 horizontal with parallel wires, especially since I am using microcoils. Its subjective anyway. This is my new favorite dripper fwiw

Got mine yesterday. I'm on the fence about it. It gets hot as hell, it needs more airflow. So I'm deciding if I want to sell it or have a guy at work drill it out on the press. I'm thinking the best way would be to drill the brass holes to be equal size of the inner holes. Has anyone else drilled it out? How did you do it?

Anyone know the size of the inner holes?

Id try some different builds before you do that, how do you have it set up right now?

mxchino
04-10-2014, 08:55 PM
Right now it's quad coil 26 gauge on a 1/16 bit right around .3 ohms.

It gets hot no matter what type of build I've done. Duals with 24 gauge, quad with 26 and 28. Duals with 26. Etc

The second run of these will include 23mm and have a slightly different design supposedly: https://www.facebook.com/StyleOfMojo - Post on 1st April

Interested in a SS 23mm; fingers crossed and issues all fixed. Just received my last gen Chi You. Super stoked!

My ithaka gave me the same problem when I was using too heavy guage of wire, Thats probably giving you a crazy heat up time too with what 13 or 14 wraps? thats a lot of metal to heat up, give 30 ga a try before you drill out a $145 atomizer.

mxchino

13 wraps yep. I don't have any 30 gauge but I'll try some twisted 32.

I drilled mine out. Drilled the two outer holes on each side. Still warm, but better air flow.

Did a rebuild today quad coil using 1.2mm internal diameter, 10/9 wraps 30g at .37 with organic cotton and liking it even better, this thing works really well with micro coils
you can get bits here .7-1.4 mm pairs. 1.2 is usually as small as I go

I think 7/64 for each of the two outside holes. Also drilled the inside walls to match

Just built a 5/6 wrap 27g dual coil, with a single u wick. This is my favorite build so far, excellent flavor!
